                 EMULATION RAMBLER: PC-TASK 3.1 BENCHMARKS

Hello again, emulation fans.  I think we've just about beat PC-Task 3.1
into the ground, but in case you needed them, yeah, here's a couple of
benchmarks.

PC-Task 3.1

YES.  PC-Task 3.1 works pretty well, more or less.  I've even been
hammering around with an old version of Lotus 1-2-3 (2.x) and it's not too
shabby...but I wouldn't want to have hundreds of random variables.

The point is, PC-Task 3.1 is an actively supported product with consistent
online support and responsive developers.  So active and responsive that
Quasar Distribution and Chris Hames will be holding an Amiga Report
conference...as soon as we can get a date set.

But, since everyone loves benchmarks, here you go...

PC-Task 3.1 on a 3000/030 (25mhz):

From PC Magazine benchmarks:

[Turbo mode is the PC-Task 3 Turbo mode, which requires loads of memory
but returns higher levels of performance]

Memory accesses were 2.0 vs an AT in normal mode, slightly higher in
Turbo.

SI 4.5 results:

1.8 vs. XT
2.7 vs. XT-Turbo.

A more thorough set of benchmarks on a 4000/040 will be done when PC-Task
3 takes on Emplant PC...as soon as we get Emplant PC.
